But, then I started playing Café World. Don’t ask me why it was Café World. It could have been any of them probably. They’re all the same generally, and in that they are extremely addictive. But, it was Café World and now two months later I’m a bit of an addict – I love this game.

So, when I heard there was a guide coming out for it that would help to speed things along, I was first in line to read it. I wanted to know exactly what it was that this Café World guide could offer that I couldn’t figure out on my own.

The Hardest Awards

Restaurant City has a lot of awards to offer, with several of them being harder to get than the others. These are the top level awards for every category, and can make it difficult for you when you are trying to get to the best stuff the game has to offer. Spending 200,000 coins and visiting 10,000 restaurants are two of the toughest awards to achieve. Others include picking up 5,000 pieces of trash, harvesting 500 plants, and purchasing many, many, items for your restaurant and avatar.

Because these numbers are so high up there, you are going to need to constantly work them if you want to get these awards without it taking several years.

How to Get the Hard Ones

Planning in the early stages of your restaurant is key to obtaining the hardest awards in Restaurant City. One of the best tools to use for this is getting a ton of friends. You don’t just want your personal friends, that may not even play the game that often. You want to spend some time finding good Restaurant City gamers that want to interact with other players and will share ratings of each other restaurants.

Take a stroll down Random Street to pick up trash from abandoned restaurants that need some cleaning. Of course, before being able to spend coins and purchase items to obtain those awards, you are going to need to make coins, around 700,000 coins that is. This could take several weeks of keeping your customers happy with your delicious entrees, but it will happen.

If you manage to get every award in Restaurant City, you can be sure other players will take notice of this great accomplishment. This Restaurant City guide contains many secret strategies to help you dominate Restaurant City.

1. Networking on Facebook

Facebook and MySpace are already huge social networks and if you have a few hundred friends, use them. Send out invitations to everyone on your friend list to join your mafia, regardless of how well you know them (steer clear of your co-workers and boss though if you have work connections). Most people will just say yes and if they already have their account, they’ll reciprocate. Don’t waste time by not using the tools already in front of you.

2. Forums and Chatrooms

Alternately, you can find plenty of social venues where you can discuss the game and find people willing to swap places with you in each other’s mafias. This is a prime way to start building up your mafia size without having to spend any additional points or make new friends. You don’t need to stay social to keep you mafia size up, so just find a few people willing to take the rewards you give them and you should be good.

3.    Blogging and Craigslist

If you have a blog or are well known somewhere, use that prestige to gather new members. A simple note on your blog about needing new family members will often times take care of the problem all by itself. Alternately, you can post an ad on Craigslist and ask people to join up (it does actually work). Just make sure you don’t give away any personal information until you have checked out the people who reply.

By using all the free resources provided free on the internet, you can increase your position in Mafia Wars to a full family of 500 quickly with very little effort. Figuring Out Your Schedule

As you look through your cookbook, trying to decide on what to cook up, you need to first know how long it will be before you can get back to the Cafe and take your cooked food from the stove and place it on the serving counter. Having the best planned menu in the world will do you no good if you can’t get back in time to serve your creations.

Cook food that sits on the stove will eventually spoil, causing you to lose not only the food, but also the cost of cleaning the stove and the ingredients used to make the food. This also means you will have to wait even longer to put more food back on your serving counters, which means you could very well run out of food to serve if you are running low. No food means no customers and that means to money coming in.

Maximizing Your Earnings

You will also want to take a look at how many servings each dish will make when done. There are two reasons this. You want to make sure you have enough food on your serving counters to last until you can get back to your Cafe and serve up more dishes. This will ensure a constant money flow coming into your Cafe, even while you sleep, which is the best situation to be in.

Another reason for this is the fact that you need an empty serving counter if you are preparing a new dish, one that is not already being served. If you are taking a dish off the stove that is already being served, it will just be added to those servings. But, if you are cooking up a entree that is not already being served, you will need an empty serving counter to place this dish when it is done. This is ofter overlooked in the planning process and will lead to a lot of spoiled food and lost money if you do not have anywhere to serve the food that is sitting fully cooked on the stove.

Cost Per Serving

Last, but not least, you need to know how much money each serving will make you when served to a customer. You will want to decide which entree to make based on how much money per hour you can make to help you maximize how much you make from every customer that comes in the door. Figure this out and you will be on your way to becoming a successful Cafe owner.

The cost of these tasks is less than what you will receive when you harvest your crops, so you will make a nice little profit. The FarmVille market has plenty of items you can purchase to decorate and expand upon your farm. Some of these items can be quite expensive money wise, but they will also give out some nice experience points as well, helping you progress to your next level. You’re going to need to find a way to afford all of the nice things you will be wanting to buy for your farm.

Hourly Earnings

By maximizing the amount you make in FarmVille, you’ll make it a lot easier to purchase these items and a faster amount of time. Figuring out which crops are going to make you the most amount of coins per hour is essential. Take strawberries and pumpkins for example. Strawberries take 4 hours to grow and can be sold for 35 coins per plot of land harvested, while pumpkins sell for 68 coins per plot but take 8 hours to grow.

This means you will make 8.75 coins an hour for strawberries and only 8.5 coins an hour for pumpkins, assuming you used the same amount of plots for each crop. This is a small difference, but it does add up fast when you plant hundreds of lots. And other crops have an even greater difference in coins per hour paid. In order to maximize this profit, you will need to harvest your crops as soon as they are ready and replant right away.

Quick Turnaround Times

This doesn’t necessarily mean you should just plant strawberries though. If you can harvest them in 4 hours then great, but if you’re not going to be able harvest them for 8 hours, then you would be much better off planting pumpkins. The longer a crop sits unharvested, the less money you will be making per hour for that crop. Fast maturing crops can make you fast money, but only if you are able to harvest and replant them when they are ready. Keep all this in mind when deciding which seeds to purchase in the FarmVille Market, and you will see your coins building up in no time at all.

Know The Ribbon Requirements

If you don’t know what it takes to get that pretty blue ribbon, how can you focus on earning it? At the bottom right section of your farm, you will see a ribbon icon. Click this to see a list of all ribbons. This will also show you your progress and what you still need to complete each ribbon.

Choose One Ribbon

When you are new to FarmVille, you do not have a lot of resources to begin with. You should focus on getting one ribbon at a time. Sometimes getting one ribbon can also help you in getting closer to another ribbon as well. For example, you need to harvest flowers for the “Flower Power” ribbon. By displaying the harvesting flowers on your farm, you will also be earning the “Pretty Garden” ribbon.

What Ribbon Do You Pick?

Open up the ribbon window and take a look at each ribbon to get a good idea of what it takes to earn them before you decide on going after one. You should be able to get a pretty good idea of which ribbons to go after first. For example, the Zoologist ribbons require that you gather resources from animals, so you will need plenty of animals on your farm before you can make a dent in this ribbon.

You can earn the “Tree Hugger” ribbon by harvesting from different types of trees. By doing this you will also be earning the “Knock on Wood” ribbon, which you get from harvesting any trees, they don’t have to be different ones.

Add More Neighbors

Having lots of neighbors will help you get more ribbons as well. You can earn the “Local Celebrity” ribbons by adding more neighbors, the “Good Samaritan” ribbon by visiting your neighbors farms and helping them, the “Crop Whisperer” ribbons by fertilizing your neighbors crops, and the “Not Spoiled” ribbons by collecting gifts you receive from your neighbors and keeping them in your gift box. The more neighbors you have, the easier it is to achieve these ribbons, so make sure you hit up all your friends with neighbor requests.
